Today was an amazingly great and exciting day for Leeds as it got to showcase it’s creative talent and become a marker in the history of the UK’s only retail fashion festival ‘Leeds Loves Shopping‘…doesn’t it though?!!!Plans of the new festival were unveiled…finally.
The launch of this’ new calender must have date’ was held at Leeds Bradford Airport, where better to launch a brilliant idea in style?
Jet2, Ryanair, BMI Regional and Leeds based Fashion designer Mandy Hudson took off to fashion cloud 9 together displaying some awesome vintage cabin crew wear as well as unveiling new fashion creations representing the brands. The pictures below offer you a taster of the day as well as the opportunity for those who are not aware of Mandy Hudson to have a sneaky peak at some of her work.
All I can say is ‘simply awesome’, well done Miss Hudson for those brand inspired creations and well done to the team who came up with this great idea of the day. Cleverly an indoor runway was created by organisers of the Leeds Loves Shopping festival, Marketing Leeds and Leeds City Council’s City Centre Management. And for the key bit of information you’re waiting for… the festival takes place in the city centre from 13-23 October and includes an action packed Big Shopping Night Out on Thursday 13th October.
The models starring in todays event were from Leeds Fashion Show another important date for the diary…14th October, don’t be square just be there. Also cabin crew modelled the vintage airline wear and of course an event like this would not be complete without ‘our JoJo’ from Capital FM…who always looks good, if you’re reading this I like your pretty dress. Tony Hallwood Commercial and Aviation Development Director at LBA can be seen in the first picture to the left andt his is what he said “We are delighted to be supporting Leeds Loves Shopping. It is one of the highlights of the Leeds event calendar and I’m delighted to see how these dresses have been inspired by our airlines, it’s really interesting to see how they have been represented!”
Leeds is a great city with tremendous style, positive attitude and trend setting abilities. It’s events like Leeds Loves Shopping that provide the opportunities for people to come forward show off their skills, ideas and meet new people who can help make ideas, dreams and hopes come true.
